In my humble opinion, Bruckner's 7th is his most beautiful symphony, especially the first two movements. The slow movement, in particular, has a serenity that is absolutely breathtaking. This recording has been around for at least 15 years and it is superb. Maestro Haenchen is one of the most underrated conductors in the world. If this recording had been issued on a major label, it may have catapulted him to major league status. It is a live recording with outstanding orchestral playing and barely a whimper from the audience. For the very low Amazon Marketplace price, I would grab this CD before it disappears forever.
