Ganze Rezension... Alle Musiker ernteten mehrere Runden Bravos - vor allem Hartmut Haenchen. Der 73-Jährige sprang sozusagen in letzter Minute für Andris Nelsons ein und zeigte, was ein Dirigent in dreieinhalb Wochen zu leisten im Stande ist. Mit seinen schnellen Tempi und etwas herbem Klang entmystifiziert Haenchen die Partitur und rückt sie in die Nähe der Gebrauchsmusik, stellt sie also in den Dienst des Dramas. Das war nicht nur Richard Wagners erklärte Absicht; nach vielen Aufführungen in Bayreuth, die die Musik selbst zelebriert haben, war diese Klangfarbe sehr erfrischend.
